IT IS AN INITIATORY JOURNEY, AN INNER JOURNEY. A FORM OF PILGRIMAGE, A DARK TROGLODY PATH SYMBOLIZING THE JOURNEY FROM IGNORANCE TO KNOWLEDGE. THE SOUL, WHICH IS THE DIRECTION TOWARDS THE CREATIVE AND UNIVERSAL SPIRIT.

Man is dual in nature. The Minotaur (symbol of the Darkness within Man and symbol of earthly incarnation) is held captive in a cave (labyrinth, fruits of his personality, realm of spiritual death). Theseus (who is the one who must awaken within Man) must defeat him. Only by becoming aware of the Darkness within each of us can the Minotaur be annihilated. And then, one must emerge from the underworld by following Ariadne's thread, the thread of knowledge and wisdom, an elevation of consciousness, like an ideal of perfection and purification.
