THE WORLD OF APPEARANCES.

Greek Mythology: Medusa is one of the Gorgons, three daughters of the gods, who turn to stone anyone who looks at them: the mineral is the densest materialization of darkness. It is spiritual death. Medusa alone is mortal; she is therefore linked to the physical, material body of man. She represents social perversion: vanity. She is the transition between the two elements, since she was born from water, her primal element, before the materialization of the cosmic phase in earth, and moreover, her venom is fire. Text inspired by Jacqueline Berger's *Universal Philosophy*.
Medusa, which we can compare today to the society of the spectacle—attractive, seductive, distracting, like the media, celebrities, politicians, etc.—hypnotizes humans with its recurring lies, leaving them in a form of spiritual and intellectual paralysis, far removed from their original essence.
