The "mundus imaginalis" is of a more subtle corporeality than the gross matter of our bodies: Ether, or Akasha, could be compared to the celestial waters in this work, and is the invisible, ideal imprint of everything that comes from the sensible world. It is in a state of being completely depersonalized, stripped of its own consciousness, in ecstasy, here represented by a waterfall.
